Pebble

A Coarse Soft sediment where particles between 4-64 mm in any dimension are dominant (constitute ≥ 80 % of the coarse sediment).

Level 4 definitions

  • Fine Pebble: A pebble-dominated substratum where ≥ 80 % of the pebbles are between 4-8 mm in any dimension.
  • Medium Pebble: A pebble-dominated substratum where ≥ 80 % of the pebbles are between 8-16 mm in any dimension.
  • Coarse Pebble: A pebble-dominated substratum where ≥ 80 % of the pebbles are between 16-32 mm in any dimension.
  • Very Coarse Pebble: A pebble-dominated substratum where ≥ 80 % of the pebbles are between 32-64 mm in any dimension.
