Macroalgae

An area dominated by macroalgae, i.e. multicellular algae that are capable of attaching to the seafloor. Macroalgae are commonly referred to as seaweeds, and consist of the phyla Chlorophyta and Rhodophyta, and class Phaeophyceae.
